Sweetbriar Photo Club of Smithtown, NY

As a recent member I have found the Sweetbriar Photo Club to be a positive experience. The club has zoom meetings approximately two times per month. Members submit photos which are then reviewed by the zoom participants, as to quality, composition and detail. Other meetings discuss topics related to the basics of good photography. I have found my participation to be a worthwhile experience.

Great camera club. The more experienced members are always willing to share their expertise and spend time helping others. Once a month we submit photos for review and constructive criticism. Good learning experience.

I hadn't done serious photography for 30 years. I decided to get into the new digital realm and after plunking along for a year I found Sweetbriar Photo Club and my experience widely expanded first with the suggestion I get Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop. Having had a career in photo labs pre digital it was like being in the darkroom. The experienced photographers that have been in this group for years are always eager to help you learn more. The monthly critique of our work for the next month's competition are very helpful to get the opinions/suggestions how to improve what you are doing. It also helps to see what others are shooting.
