this used to be a decent independent senior housing apartment complex, but it seems that "independent" is relative.  lately the apartments are not being rented to  independent seniors but to St. Peter's Eddy patients and the aides they need to care for them 24/7.  the aides talk in the hallway, loudly, at all hours of the night.  many are rude and seem to be neglecting their patients; and it's just unpleasant to not have real neighbors and folks to talk to on your floor.  if people need 24/7 care, how is that considered an independent senior?  they need more maintenance staff as well.

My 90 year old father goes to Day Haven here. He has memory issues and the staff at Day Haven are wonderful to and with him. It is an adult daycare center for seniors with memory disorders. It helps both Dad and I. It helps Dad break up the boredom at home and it gives me a well deserved break from my caregiving. It is also fairly reasonable. A great deal all the way around.
