I am a national commty organizer that had given a movie screening here and the library did not notify me prior to the event that they do not have the proper sound equipment necessary to most adequately hear the movies. I was only told by a staff member once I inquired about it during the film. When I made mention of it to the Library Manager she was dismissive of it and stated that they have events there all the time and that "she thought" that it wasn't an issue. I dont think she would've responded in the same way had this been done in a more affluent neighborhood. We need people managing these establishments that live in the areas and are therefore more culturally receptive and respectful to the communities that they are supposed to be serving.

Can someone explain this to me. I applied for a job as a security officer at Phillis Wheatley Community Library, I worked there before through my company, but now this position is through the city so I applied and I did the interview with the manager and everything went well especially they knew me well, but it's took long time no one called me so I called they told they didn't make a decision, then I waited for a week then called again they told they didn't choose anyone because there were just applications applied so, they will run the hiring ad again and they asked me applied again . Is that a joke or what?

Not well cared for and an almost singular genre dominating both the the totality of their collection as well as their displays.
