A large refund appeared to have been lost in the IRS shuffle six months and counting. The Taxpayer Assistance Center quickly got to the bottom of things and advocated for resolution. Special thanks to Ms. Reed.

I filed my taxes in March 2022, it is now August 2022. I try to find out where my refund is, and can't get any information online despite trying multiple times over the last few months. I call this office (or any office) and choose the menu item regarding refunds - exactly the same result as going online. I try to make an appointment to talk to somebody about this and I am on hold for half an hour. However, I finally talk with a very nice lady who actually tries to help, but says there is no information regarding my account and I should check again in 16 weeks. 16 WEEKS!!! This sort of response could only be acceptable in a government agency (or a bank). Kent Lyons
