About a year ago I was at the point where I was tired of feeling like crap, falling over my own feet, and having no energy. I needed to make some big changes, but wasn't sure where to start. My friend suggested meeting with Coach Steve at JS Fit and trying personal training. I was very nervous before going for the first time. What if I was too out of shape to be helped? What if I injured myself (as I have in the past)? What if I couldn't do it? Coach Steve put those worries to rest after the first meeting. I could tell he is someone who genuinely wants to help people improve their health and he knows how to work with different people. He encourages you while challenging you and he's great at modifying exercises when needed. Every day is different and you can be doing anything from strength training, yoga, boxing, boot camp, etc. Since I started training, I don't trip and fall nearly as much as I used to. My hands don't give out as much so I'm not dropping things. I have more energy and have been able to start having a more active lifestyle. A year ago I wouldn't have been able to go on hikes or swim 100 laps. If you're at that point where you want to improve your health but don't know how to or don't think you can do it, go see Coach Steve and let him show you that you can do it.

I worked with Coach Steve to learn boxing as a way to improve coordination, balance and strength. He taught boxing in Albany for many years and has a thorough understanding of how to teach a beginner. His patience and supportive attitude made each session fun.

Just celebrated one year with Coach Steve and wanted to submit a ringing endorsement. Anyone who has worked with Coach knows it's a body, mind and spirit workout that is challenging, appropriate and fun. I am deeply grateful for Coach Steve being part of my life and our community. It's easy to feel intimidated when pursuing new goals, especially fitness, I know I did. However, the moment I walked into JS Fit and met Coach I felt welcomed and comfortable. The studio has a good vibe and Coach Steve is most gracious.

Update 9/2024: When I said: Come on 2023! In my last review, I had no idea what it would bring! It did land be a broken left arm that could not hold a piece of toilet paper and a 3 month recovery to get back into the studio at JS Fit. With the help of Steve I have made tremendous progress to getting my strength back enough to ride my motorcycle! He picked up where PT left off. His knowledge of the body and how it works, where it's connected, and to what enables him to design a workout that is healing, healthy, and exactly what the body needs and wants to get back to whole and happy! Who thinks that a wrist injury would make your upper arm ache? A Super Coach and Fitness Instructor who has the Whole Mind, Body Connection rockin during a workout! Coach Steves holistic approach to fitness is one of a kind. He tailors his coaching sessions to what you need and your specific goals. This is not a one size fits all coaching style. Over the last few years I had gained a significant amount of weight even though I was eating relatively well and exercising regularly. I hit a point on the scale and said, no more! I cant continue to watch myself gain weight and feel tired all the time. I felt like I was doing everything right for the most part so I knew I needed something different. I set out to create different habits and learn a new way. Thats what Coach Steve helped me do. I learned how to exercise and eat in a way that my body could respond better to. Most importantly for me was learning stress management through our sessions. I started to feel better and lose weight faster once I realized how much my mind affected my health. In just a couple months I have lost 19 lbs and feel more balanced and energetic. Life in general doesnt feel so overwhelming all the time. And if I have moments of anxiety and stress, I know what I need to do to get back to center. Thanks coach!!
