We have only had 3 storms this season, we pay upfront at the beginning of the season without knowing what kind of winter it will be. Storm #2 we had to call and ask them to come plow because we had been waiting all day. They only plowed half the driveway, so we called and asked them to come back. They did, and also tore up the lawn, even with stakes in the grass. Storm #3 we texted at 11 am asking for them to come plow, and didn't arrive until 2 pm, and was on his phone the entire time, driving over the grass and stakes. Definitely looking elsewhere for next year, AJB seems to have a ton of good reviews.

Big Earl's Snow and Stump Removal started off impressively, providing reliable snow removal services during the first two winters. The prompt clearing of driveways, even multiple times in a day when needed, instilled confidence in their ability to handle winter storms effectively. Similarly, their performance in lawn care during the summer months contributed to an overall positive experience. However, the winter of 2024 has been a turning point, revealing significant shortcomings in service quality. Three storms have hit, with snowfalls ranging from 4", 6" and 15". Unfortunately, on two occasions, we had to initiate contact via text to inquire about driveway clearing, putting us in an awkward position. The response, stating they were "way behind," lacked proactive communication. A mass text to customers explaining the delay would have been a considerate approach, especially given the premium price of $600 for the plowing season. One storm required us to text Big Earl's twice, urging them to return and finish plowing the other half of our driveway. This lack of completeness in their service is concerning and indicative of a decline in reliability. Post-snowmelt, we also discovered damage to both sides of our driveway, with the lawn torn up and in poor condition. This not only poses an aesthetic issue but also raises concerns about the company's attention to detail and the potential cost and effort required to repair the damage. The breaking point for us came when observing the plow operator's behavior during the latest service. The distraction of being on his phone, spinning out, and amateurish use of the plow, culminating in hitting the garage door, were unacceptable. Despite the garage door still functioning, the incident added frustration to an already lengthy 6-hour wait for service. Regrettably, this series of negative experiences has led us to make the decision to discontinue our association with Big Earl's Snow and Stump Removal. The sentiment extends to our neighbors, indicating a potential loss of multiple customers due to the decline in service quality. We expresses hope that Big Earl's utilizes this free time to focus on improving customer satisfaction in the future. The decision to switch to another local plow company reflects not only a loss of business but also a tarnished reputation that may impact future clientele. In conclusion, the winter of 2024 has exposed shortcomings in Big Earl's Snow and Stump Removal's service, from communication lapses and incomplete jobs to property damage and unprofessional behavior. Our decision to switch providers underscores the importance of consistent and reliable service in the competitive snow removal industry. (Notice the picture of the truck pushing snow in front of our neighbors garage. This is WAAAAAY past the orange marker, and well onto their lawn. Causing major dig marks that are very difficult to fix.)

Great guts, good workers. Raked up my leaves and invited back to keep my driveway clear of snow. I highly recommend them.
