The reason is simply that when you elect to not pay fees up front that they are deducted from your first refund payment. As the IRS does not allow us to perform tis function directly with the IRS we must use an approved third party. The cost of this service and financing your tax prep is $54.95which should have been explained more thoroughly. I will address that with my team.
