Book Appointment Doreen Chung, M.D. specializes in male and female urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, female urology, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). She also has an interest in vaginal and minimally-invasive surgery for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, artificial urinary sphincters for post-prostatectomy male incontinence, and laser procedures for the treatment of BPH (including vaporization and enucleation techniques). Dr. Chung has published numerous articles and book chapters on these topics and is actively involved in clinical research. Her current investigations focus on clinical outcomes, biological graft use in the treatment of pelvic prolapse, and the effect of diabetes on voiding and incontinence. Dr. Chung completed her medical degree and residency at the University of Toronto. Following her residency, she completed fellowships in voiding dysfunction, incontinence, and female urology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Before joining Columbia, Dr. Chung was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at The University of Chicago Medicine. Dr. Chung is board certified in Urology as well as in the subspecialty of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Urogynecologic Society, the International Continence Society and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine, and Urogenital Reconstruction.
