One of the two premier NYC history experiences in the city (the other being The Museum of the City of NY). The historical society is always a blast to visit with remarkable rotating exhibits that bring history to life (sorry for the cliche) at the center of the experience when I visited was a masterful video presentation in the theater.

The New-York Historical Society, founded in 1804, is New York Citys oldest museum and is renowned for its mission to explore the richly layered history of New York and the nation. It serves as a cultural repository that houses an extensive collection of historical artifacts, American art, and other exhibits that reflect the diverse social fabric of the city. The society also conducts scholarly research and offers a variety of educational programs, aiming to foster a deeper understanding of historys impact on the world today. Its commitment to preserving and interpreting history makes it an invaluable resource for both researchers and the general public interested in the American experience.
