My non-profit used 1800accoutant and it was a horrible experience. They missed appointments that we scheduled without so much as an email to cancel or attempt to reschedule. No one clearly communicated with us despite being told that accountants would always be available to speak with us. Despite giving them all of the necessary documents roughly 2-3 months ago, they have done absolutely nothing on our taxes. I've repeatedly checked in to see if there was anything else they needed, but they wouldn't respond or wouldn't answer the question. They repeatedly screwed up our 1099s, including using an employee's home address on them so there was a serious data breach. At times it also seemed that some of the people there didn't understand the difference between non-profit and for-profit accounting as they definitely gave us incorrect information. Once it became obvious that this wasn't working I asked for a refund and was denied. I also question their DEI practices as every single person I've spoken to there has been a man. Don't work with this business! They'll rob you and create great financial/tax problems for your non-profit. Update: It's been over two weeks since I made a complaint with the BBB and posted here. Still no real response from 1800accountant. DON'T use this business. They're inept and not to be trusted. I'm now filing formal complaints with appropriate accounting boards and am now speaking with our legal team and have had to hire new accountants and am paying them look over our 1099s since 1800accountant made so many mistakes I can't trust that what they filed with the IRS is accurate. Our new accountant has our tax documents already ready for review within only 1 week. 1800accountant had our documents for months and did nothing. As a result, we missed out on the opportunity to apply for two major federal grants because our taxes weren't done. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
