A terrible experience. My total right hip replacement resulted in a fractured greater trochanter (top of femur bone ) which was also displaced and is not fusing. My right foot is also pointing outwards & is not correctable. After almost 8 months still limping, cant stand or walk for extended periods, cant drive without pain, my wife has to put on my right sock because I cant flex leg. This despite regular physical therapy. Will soon visit another surgeon to determine whether this is fixable. I have an active lifestyle & want to continue exercising etc thats why I went to have my hip replaced. Ironically the opposite happened including being sedentary for a month having to use crutches. Besides Dr. Lamont two residents were present in the Operating Room since NYU is teaching hospital. I dont know what role they played in my surgery but if they were involved, Dr. Lamont is supposed to supervise them. nightmare experience, so be very careful selecting your surgeon.
