Chinatown Medicaid(唐人街医药局)

This location was clean and the staff and security are pleasant! No attitudes and very helpful. Even the security at the entrance were pleasant and very nice! Happy I chose this location!

I am frankly gobsmacked at the poor reviews this city agency has gotten! I "lost" my Medicaid coverage 5 years ago. (If you win the Powerball lottery, depending on your situation, say good-bye to SSI, SSD, SNAP, MEDICAID and subsidized housing. Didn't know that did you?) I digress, unable to access the HRA ACCESS app, I chose to skip Bklyn and visit the nearest Medicaid office, Chinatown, a place I had been to many years ago. All I remembered from then was a warren of crowded cubicles and offices and literally hundreds of Asians standing wall-to-wall. When the elevator door on the 5th Floor opened, I was not sure I was in the right place. Where was everybody? It was mid-afternoon on a week-day!. "Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse." (E.A. Poe) The Info kiosk ejected a ticket with a high number (2011) and no sooner had I stepped into a large, empty waiting room, it was called right away. I was welcomed by a gentleman who asked me how he could help me. I told him I wanted to pick up an application. He asked me for ID. I gave him my NYS Driver License which, judging by his reaction, he didn't see very often. He told me, "You don't need one." How come? I asked. Because your case is active, he said. Since when? I asked. Since October 1st, i.e., the past two MONTHS! I requested that in writing. He was delighted to hand me the confirmation. What started out as a simple inquiry turned out to be a fast-forwarded start-to-finish graduation. . I showed him my old Medicaid card. He said, take that card with this paper and go to any hospital. It all happened so fast! I left the building whistling, "Everything is Tickety-boo" as sung by Danny Kaye. On the subway ride home, I gave my seat up to a child. I am 72 and walk with a cane but felt like I was on top of the world.

I am very grateful to the Chinatown Medicaid which on 12.5.2022, assisted me philanthropically and efficiently to fulfill and certify, submitt renewal of my Medicaid. Art U. S. Artist Walter

Security was very nice and professional. Security took the wet floor sign out due to the rain. Inside the office area was clean as well as the bathroom. The women working there were kind and helpful. This location is specifically for people 65+ or individuals with disabilities. So they couldn't help me with my issue because I am not 65+ nor have a disability. But they directed me to the Brooklyn location to resolve my issue. My overall experience was pleasant. No complaints from me. Keep up the good work everyone. Thank you for your help.
