I don't know why it received a one-star review. I have had many paintings and sketches framed here and the gentleman who assisted me is knowledgeable and has an eye and taste for what frame would enhance the work. In addition, I found his prices to be quite reasonable, but I am accustomed to spending money on good framing.

I gave a family member a large photo a few years ago; it was then framed at Q Art. The photo faded very badly and way too fast - so I took it to one of the local guys up in the burbs where I live to redo. We took apart the frame to put in a new print I had made - and found: The print had been mounted on plain cardboard (!!) - which is acidic and thus leads to fading. (It should have been dry mounted on foam core.) It was very poorly mounted to that cardboard backing. Behind the backing was a layer of cardboard (!!) from an old box - complete with creases from the box. Cardboard is dreadful for photos and art! The 8 ply mat had been made from 2 sections of 4 ply - but very crudely done, and the rear section was actually two pieces that had been taped together. The glass was the cheapest imaginable. Even the wood frame itself was cheapo. When they mounted and framed they did so eccentrically - 'stealing' quite a bit from one side of the photo. I redid it with a new print, on foam core, with archival materials. Most people never take apart their frames, and if something fades 5 or 10 years down the road, you won't think to blame the framer. BUT Q-Art cut every corner imaginable on this mounting and frame. Be warned...
