Dr Salvati is an excellent surgeon, but is only concerned about the hip he is operating on. He is cold, dismissive, and uninterested in the patients concerns even relating to the operation

Dr Salvati, you took no time to get to know my issue and you dismissed me quickly. It was a painful physical and emotional issue and you sent me away without asking more than a few questions or providing me with any sort of solution or resolution. I hope you reflect on the lack of empathy and negative impact you left on me. Enough to make me take the time to write a review. If you are looking for genuine care and a doctor who wants the best for you, dont go to Dr. salvati.

Would be zero stars if it was possible. Approximately 27 years ago Dr Salvati did a revision on my fathers first hip replacement. My father who was a surgeon did his research and tried to make the right choice for his second hip replacement. He chose Dr Salvati because he had done his first hip replacement. Although my father and our family are aware that things could go wrong during surgery, it was the way Dr Salvati treated my father after the surgery that really defines the man and doctor he is. My father knew something wasnt right. He reached out to Dr Salvati over and over again. Dr Salvati would not take my fathers calls. He washed his hands of my father. Even a fellow surgeon who knew something was wrong was treated with such a lack of empathy and respect. My dad had to do all his own research to find out what was going on with him. My dad ended up bedridden for 10 years until he passed away. He was 53 at the time of his surgery and 63 when he passed away. He missed so much. He watched my wedding from a closed circuit television. He never saw my apartments in the city or my first house which was only blocks away from where he lived. He never met my kids. He never met one of my brothers wonderful wife. He never got to see my other brothers child grow up to be such a great human being. My mom lost her best friend and partner in life. He hasnt been here to help with the medical stuff that he always took charge of and we have needed him. I dont blame Dr Salvati for the surgery. I blame him for treating my father horribly after the surgery. It caused my dad so much emotional distress which actually worsened his condition. My father was a surgeon. He operated on people and saved their lives. He took the time whether he was with his family on vacation or just at home to check in on his patients. He cared deeply about his patients. He was a good surgeon and a good man. Dr Salvati is not the type of doctor you should see. Find someone who is a good surgeon; will care about you as a patient and as a person. I waited 27 years to write this. Im sorry. I wish I wrote it sooner. Im sure he is close to retiring and has had a great life. But I cant let one more person choose a doctor based solely on his ability to do surgery. There is more to a surgeon than that. And my dad could have had the opportunity to continue to be that surgeon, if Dr Salvati hadnt ruined his life and that of our family and the countless people my father could have gone on saving. This is in honor of my fathers birthday today.
