Dr. Hyman, in his NYC office, instantly knew what was wrong with our daughter's legs. [For us, it had been a TWO YEAR search through every NJ specialist that had given their (very wrong) diagnoses, from head to toe.] Thankfully it was not too serious an issue, although required surgery on both legs. I always had very pleasant interactions with the staff at both locations. But, particularly in NY, the other specialists who had worked on her post surgery leg needs, were so wonderful and such "people persons". As for his demeanor, Dr. Hyman was always very nice. I believe that since he is so busy and knowledgeable, sometimes he, or others alike, do come off as rigid, etc. But I was fortunate never to have been treated bad.

Dr. Hyman provided excellent care for my daughter. She had two surgeries a few months apart and he was consistently compassionate and caring, making sure he answered all her questions and concerns as well as mine. He's accessible and easy to talk to. He took his time to explain the procedure thoroughly and was genuinely concerned with my child's comfort. The outcome of the surgeries is also excellent. No issues. Dr. Hyman is a very highly experienced and qualified surgeon. We are very happy to have been in such great hands!

Dr. Hyman was rude. I took my daughter who at that time was 18 months to see him because her right foot was turning in. Dr. Hyman's first comment was you must be a first time mother do you expect her to be doing ballet at this time? He looked upset that he had to examine her and looked even more upset when my daughter started crying. I couldn't wait to get out of his office. No need for the sarcasm. I'm not a first time mother I just happen to care about my children and want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
