Dr. Ameya Save and his outstanding staff did a remarkable job of repairing my SHATTERED elbow. Besides being very skillful, Dr. Save is very compassionate and patient. At 6 weeks, he says the bone is healed, I can do whatever I want, and I am about 80 percent on my way to a total recovery. I am very grateful.

I saw Dr. Save to get a second opinion on an issue with my wrist. It's fine that he has his opinion of why this wrist is in so much pain. I had issues with my other wrist in the past that interfered with my ability to work and had surgery on it (performed by a different physician), which has given me some relief even though I don't have all of my strength back. My issue with Dr. Save was that he completely invalidated my personal experience from that surgery and told me that the previous surgery wasn't necessary and wouldn't have given me pain relief. He didn't perform the surgery and he didn't personally experience the pain I had before and after the surgery, so I don't think it's his place to make such flippant and arrogant remarks. He used the word "microscopic" several times and asked if my issue was ever visible with my eyes (it wasn't). So, according to Dr. Save, if you can't see it, it means it's not real or can't possibly be causing you pain.* Just because something is "microscopic" doesn't mean it isn't having a noticeably negative effect on someone's well-being and is deserving of being addressed. When I asked about when to schedule a follow-up visit, I was told that a follow-up wasn't needed. That indicates two things: 1) Dr. Save's hubris and overconfidence makes him believe that he's always right and/or 2) I'm a "complicated" patient and he doesn't want to see me again (if it's 2, the feeling is mutual). In retrospect, I should have taken a man with me to my appointment because I doubt Dr. Save would have made such unprofessional remarks or implied that I was malingering if that were the case. I would urge women to avoid Dr. Save to spare themselves unnecessary medical gaslighting. * I have a medical condition caused by a genetic mutation - but because I can't see my second chromosome in all of the cells of my body with my eyes, I guess that condition isn't real either. /s

Very professional, detail oriented, and knowledgeable. Was able to properly diagnose my issue when other doctors were unable to.
