image Michael Alaia is the best MD, Ive visited. During a very stressful time where I was wasting my time and money visiting doctors who didnt have a clue on what they were talking about. I visited Dr. Alaia after 3 months of looking for a physician and he got on my situation instantly. When we learned of the condition that I needed to get treated on was, he didnt hold back on what I needed to know and I really appreciate that. He reassured me that I was in the right hands and told me there was no other option to tackle my problem, but letting me know that everything will be okay. Michael Alaia is the Go-To Doctor

Some Things Just Need Said on Google

image Dr. Alaia = Dismissively rude. Apathetic liar and insultingly arrogant. He didn't even look at the MRIs or MRI reports when he said my knees were fine, because my knees definitely aren't "fine". I was like, "did you read the MRI reports?" He replied, "yes," which I found rather amusing since they were still in my bag... and the MRIs weren't done at NYU but at UPenn. I can't fathom how this "doctor" has a single positive review.

image Dr. Alaia is an amazing Orthopedic surgeon. His bedside manner is top shelf. He's very understanding and explains everything to you. His PA Andre is amazing as well. I had to have another knee surgery and didn't use Dr Alaia because of my lawyer and I'll tell you that I'm regretting it now. I went to HSS and have had nothing but problems.

image I grew up in NYC and fell in love early with football ! Throughout my childhood, I remember commuting countless hours to play for an elite club team on Long Island as well as the State and Regional Olympic Development Teams. Injuries affected me like any other serious athlete - they sucked, and by the time I got to college, I had already had two knee surgeries, multiple serious ankle sprains, and countless muscle issues. After playing 4 years of division I soccer and joining a couple of post college recreational teams around the city, the pain / swelling on my right knee became unbearable. My previous surgeon kept recommending that I get injections and continue with physical therapy but this just made my situation worse. It wasnt until I saw Dr. Alaia at NYU, that I got the wakeup call that I so desperately needed - I had a knee that resembled an 85 year old - aka NO CARTILAGE! This scared me but Dr. Alaia gave me hope when he told me his plan to fix me. Fast forward a year and a half and two knee surgeries later and my knee has never felt better. Thanks to the best surgeon in NYC who performed a flawless Osteotomy and MACI procedure, I now have my cartilage back! The dopest part of this operation is that the cartilage is really MINE because they came from MY stem cells! Thank you, Dr. Alaia for getting me healthy and back out on the field doing what I love to do the most!
