I have been working at this space for a year now. Recently, a new male staff joined the front desk, and his attitude has been very unfriendly. It has made me feel quite uncomfortable. Moreover, during work hours, he has been chatting with another female staff, and their conversation is loud that it's affecting my work. I believe your company should be more careful in selecting front desk personnel. After this experience, I don't think I will want to come here again.DONT COME HERE!!!!

I've joined for 2 weeks and enjoying it so far! I've shopped around for quite a bit and have eventually settled here because the dedicated desk that I need is quite fairly priced, and it's also located at a convenient location. It is definitely not as fancy as some of the other coworking spaces I've visited, but has everything I need - a comfortable space, pretty clean, not crowded, and unlimited coffee (which you can opt out from your plan). It feels a bit "no frills" compared with others I've found which is great! The stuff that matters is great - the furniture is ergonomic (love the standing desk), and I can keep my monitor and there and have plenty of personal storage space. I did encounter some billing mishaps initially, but the staff were very responsive and were able to resolve the matter for me quite quickly. It feels like people are more responsive than what these comments make out. My only gripe is that it doesn't feel like the office room (where the dedicated desks are located) are well ventilated. One would imagine these things being quite critical in a post-covid world. Others that have been around in the space longer have complained that getting help with maintenance has been an issue. For example, because the vents were not working, they were trying to open the window, but one of the windows openings were temporarily nailed shut because it was previously leaking air - a bandaid solution that in itself took a long time to materialize. The company hasn't been able to fix either the window or the vent for apparently a really long time. Doesn't bother me a whole lot for now, but it would be great to get these things fixed.

Our law firm spent a year at Spaces 1740 Broadway from December 2022 through November 2023. Apart from the presence of the marvelous onsite manager, Chevelle, our experience was disappointing and unsatisfactory. We are now at an Industrious site and are really happy with our choice. Industrious is superior to Spaces in every category. Here are our main complaints about Spaces: --Underinvestment. Spaces invests nothing in this site and the site shows it. --Plants throughout the site have died for lack of watering. Clocks don't work for lack of batteries. Spaces management thinks that it is cute to have non-functioning bicycles scattered throughout the suite. The common areas of the suite are truly ugly/trashy. --The entrance doors to the suite never lock properly -- presenting a constant security threat for tenants, particularly at night and on weekends. --A urinal remained broken in the men's restroom for our entire tenancy with no effort made to repair it. The restrooms are generally in bad shape. --Offices are never cleaned -- not ever. --The space is overrun with "hot desk" people in the common areas of the suite. These people often run telephone businesses from the common areas, disturbing people nearby who have rented offices. --Temperatures fluctuate wildly in some offices -- extremes of heat and cold are common. --The space has two kitchens: neither is complete. One has a coffee machine (selling bad coffee at $1 a cup) and purified water. The other has a microwave but no purified water and no coffee. --The building at 1740 Broadway is abandoned except for Spaces and a restaurant in the lobby-- it makes for creepy feeling all the time. --No conference room time is granted with an office lease. There are only two conference rooms and they are rented out at exhorbitant rates. --At the end of our tenancy, Spaces offered to renew --- but at a rent increase of more than 50%. No thanks! --Prior to our moving in, a sales person at Spaces quoted us a reasonable price for glazing the glass walls of our office. The price doubled right before the work was to begin. Bait and switch. --Spaces promises to return your security deposit within 30 days of departure. It has now been 41 days since our departure and our security deposit is nowhere in sight, with no explanation from Spaces. We are planning to sue Spaces to recover our security deposit. --As I mentioned above, Industrious is far superior to Spaces on every issue. You should check it out if you want a positive shared workspace option. --I would rate Spaces "no stars" if I could.

STAY AWAY! MANAGER LIED ABOUT BENEFITS. STAFF WAS DISRESPECTFUL. UNCOMPETITIVE PRICING. Service problems: - I purchased a co-working desk service. During my visits with the area manager Joseph Perrone I was not informed that I couldn't walk-in and use any available co-working spot, as is common at all other co-working offices. - Instead, the service requires you to book a desk everyday using the Spaces app or online portal. NOTE: the co-working agreement does not specify that customers are required to book a desk using the app in advance either. - When I tried to book a space using the app it forced me to put in my credit card details *each time* even though I was paying a monthly rate and no cost was associated with booking the desk. Even more frustrating, most days the app simply didn't work / froze. - I was also not informed that I would have to wait at the security desk everyday to be announced up to the office only after I would present a valid ID (driver's license etc). - Again, note the co-working agreement does not specify that customers have to pass a security check each day. - These three steps not only were cumbersome on me as a customer but are totally out of sync with general market practices: all competitors offer a 24/7 access to coworking members, they offer either cards, passcodes, or app-based systems for entering home base office buildings, and they certainly do not require bookings to be made at the primary location. - I was also told that if I needed to stay a few extra minutes past 5pm that there would be a courtesy extension. That was not my experience. The staff would approach me everyday around 4:50p and ask me to start packing up for the day. (Including interruption by phone calls!) Worse yet, I was charged on my invoice for staying 5 minutes extra! - I was told that the conference room in the co-working area of 1740 Broadway (NY) could be used by all coworking members. Unfortunately, the internet connection there doesn't work there as I discovered. It interrupted a major investor presentation and another client call. - This forced me to pay extra to book a conference room. To make matters worse, the front desk made multiple additional bookings under my account (presumably by mistake) and billed me for extra hours! - Again, competitors offer anywhere from 4-8 hours of FREE conference room access as part of the co-working memberships. - I should add, Spaces competitors also offer coworking members free printing, including unlimited color printing, free coffee and food, and the ability to receive mail at the primary coworking location. Spaces (owned by Regus) is a poorly managed and badly run brand. It is incredibly uncompetitive in the services they provide and more expensive. I would strongly recommend staying away from Regus as well as Spaces or any other brand under the IWG umbrella.

Spaces has some real advantages and some places they could use to improve. The work spaces are fairly varied, offering a good variety of environments from tables and counters, to booth and couch seating, to small and large offices accomodating one - many workers. All the spaces are lit well, with fairly natural style lighting and large windows in common areas. The office chairs are comfortable. There are fairly basic kitchen areas with $1.00 coffees, lattes, etc and free tea and hot water, and a refrig to store your lunch fixings or whatever. There's a pretty nice restaurant and bar in the lobby and a ton of takeout and delivery in the neighborhood. This location is very convenient for me. Some of the detractors: 1. A lousy tea supply. Bigelow sort of sucks. How about a better tea brand? Sorry, I'm an organic girl and have a higher standard. In the meantime, I bring my own or bear up if I forget. 2. Music playing in the common spaces. IMHO this is not necessary. It's a work space and if we want music, well, that's what headphones are for. 3. The temperature is not well adjusted and kept a tad too cool. 4. The company doesn't have any amenities to offer when the building is doing things that impact private offices, like painting fumes coming in the vents, which happened yesterday. Yuck. There should be a few fans and air purifiers available for such circumstances at the very least. 5. There is no decaf coffee available.
