Indochino

I came in for a measurement appointment, but also wanted some advice on fabric and certain other aspects of a custom suit I was ordering. Alfredo was super helpful and friendly - I really appreciated having his perspective rather than taking shots in the dark on my own!

I went in to be measured for and purchase a suit for my wedding. When I was being fitted, the person helping me informed me that my measurements hadnt changed since my last appointment. I didnt exactly think that this could be true, but didnt see any reason that they would lie, and so didnt say anything. Fast forward 3 weeks, the suit comes. Lo and behold, its about 2 sizes too big. No problem, we ordered it early in case something like this happened - so I go on their website to schedule an appointment to have it altered, only to find that they do not schedule appointments for this on weekends (???). Ok, fine. I figure that I can still go into the store and get quickly squeezed in as this Indochinos fault, and one would think that they would want to make remedying it easy for the customer. Also wrong! When I went in on Sunday, the bewildered looking associate helping me informed me that she could not schedule an appointment for me to be refitted on a weekend without a managers approval (what????) and that they could maybe squeeze me in the following weekend (gee, thanks). At this point, I realize that I am just going to have to take the suit to a tailor myself in order to get it correctly fitted before my wedding. I ask if I can be reimbursed for such a thing, and the associate informs me yes, but only up to $75 - which is famously not enough money to have an entire suit taken in by two sizes. So, tldr; Indochino measured me wrong, made my suit wrong, and then made it about as difficult as humanly possible to get the suit made correctly. And, on top of everything, I now am going to have to fight the uphill battle of getting the actual cost of tailoring reimbursed. I had had a few positive experiences with them in the past, but going forward will not be using them when I need to have clothes made.

I have been coming to Indochino's soho location for the past three years for FYGQ's Etiquette Project scholarship, which provides NYU men of color with bespoke suits and casual coaching conversation to help them on the start of budding careers. Usmaan, the showroom manager has been excellent to work with. His staff are all professionals, and the students really enjoy themselves at this event. Great quality service and product. Would highly recommend.
