I have never been to a lab that the bathrooms are so filthy (ruin on seat and side of toilet paper towels over flowing the trash so floor cover in paper towels) And when I told staff I would take my urine test when the restroom was cleaned there response was well you can drop it off In the red hazard bags whenever you decide to complete it. I left went down the hall to a bathroom in the hospital since those were clean

This was the worst experience I have ever had getting my blood drawn. I have thin veins and so I know it can be difficult for the phlebotomist. However, yesterday was crazy the phlebotomist (Michelle) tried first with one vein but it wasnt drawing blood so she kept wiggling the needle in my arm. Then she gave up and tried a different vein in the same arm but again had trouble and so more wiggling of the needle. I felt like a pin cushion. Finally, the blood started flowing but it wasnt enough to fill all the vials so she kept pressing on my vein! My whole arm is in pain now and I can barely extend it. It was so awful! Edited to add: a week+ later and I still have a huge hematoma on my elbow from the blood draw.

It is the best NYU out patient Lab. The staff is always courteous. The procedures are very quick and painless. The results come through quickly and you don't have to wait for days to get results

I recently visited the NYU lab for a blood draw with my teenager, who is typically quite scared of the process and has a history of fainting. Despite informing the staff about her anxiety and previous fainting episodes, the initial phlebotomist seemed indifferent and directed us to a regular seating area.
When I reiterated my daughter's condition, the phlebotomist moved us to a reclining chair but did so without acknowledging our concerns or providing any reassurance. Throughout the entire experience, the staff showed a lack of empathy and failed to make any effort to ease my daughter's fear. Despite the quiet atmosphere and no one else waiting, the phlebotomist left the room immediately after finishing without checking in on my daughter or addressing her anxiety.
I had chosen NYU over other options expecting a higher level of patient care, especially for those with specific needs. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations, lacking the basic empathy and communication necessary to make a patient, especially a scared teenager, feel comfortable.
