I can't believe I am now a green belt with my Dojo, Ken Wa Kan NY. Wow! The supportive, expert; amazing Sensei in the online and hybrid courses have been transforming my body. I feel so much better, more flexible; muscled; coordinated; at almost 63 than I felt when I started in 2020!

Daddy, I already know that karate will be a part of my life and who I am forever. I feel really confident about myself, in my body, and in my mind, and thats all thanks to Shihan and my Senseis. The words of my thirteen year old daughter. We were incredibly lucky to have had Ken Wa Ken Dojo recommended to us after she endured a terrorizing situation at the hands of a group of much older kids. As we now approach the end of our first year with Ken Wa Kan, to say what we have both learned (We train together) has been truly life life altering, would be a huge understatement. I myself am now 1/4 way to Black Belt at 49 years young. Shihan Michelle, Sensei Zelda, and every Sensei and Senpai at Ken Wa Kan, meet you where youre at, and prove to us that we can do anything, and that we are never too old or young to learn this truly beautiful Martial Art. Like my 13 year old daughter, and as I approach 50, I too have a greater confidence in my body and mind than ever before. Ken Wa Kan is a community and a family. A family that we will remain forever thankful to be a part of. The epic mother /daughter team of Shihan Michelle and Sensei Zelda Gay have truly created a Dojo Of Love. And Badassery. Its home.

The knowledge Shihan Michelle shares with her senseis and students is like discovering that nonexistent instruction manual for human beings on body alignment, strength, balance, and too much more to write here. The Ken Wa Kan community of senseis and students is genuine, warm, incredibly talented, and rooting for everyone to succeed. No matter what level you are, someone is always willing to help you after class. I'm happy to be a part of this dojo.
