I came to get some coloring and a haircut for my wedding. Doris and Demid (sorry if I mispelled) were fantastic! Everything about the salon was fabolous. Fantastic customer service from beginning to end, reasonable prices, and gorgeous salon. I will be recommending Matii Hair Salon to all my friends! Never write reviews, but by the 3rd day of wearing a pony tail and realizing I cant even fix my hair, i decided to do so. Ive had a horrible experience in this salon. Ive had Groupon for partial highlight and a haircut. I of course was told at arrival that I would need a glaze and thats additional 50 bucks. Also my stylist suggested to upgrade to more than just partial highlights also for additional money. I agreed, I kind of expected that, happens with Groupon a lot. Stylist was rushed as she had appointments scheduled too close and had one more person at the same time, so she was running back and forth. Ok, not her fault, understand. Im pretty low maintenance and had a lot of time that day, so I was cool with whatever. Several times she made weird comments like this is actually balayage but thats fine Im not gonna charge you (no it was not a balayage, she did highlights) and her overall tone was like shes doing me some sort of a huge favor. Thats already after I agreed to pay additional 90 dollars btw. But again, whatever, I was still chilled and she was trying to be nice. Highlights turned out fine, no commentsbut then she just completely ruined my haircut. I just had a haircut recently and literally told her the same thing but shorter. My fault for actually not looking at what she was doing but 2 minutes later I ended up with some very aggressive layers. I asked her to cut a little more to even it out but she cut even more from the shorter ones. I realized that she just didnt listen, or didnt understand me. Im not a native speaker (neither is she) but I tried to be super clear. And she would just say ok I got it and then do the absolute opposite. I asked to style my hair just straight, and again she was like ok and started curling them. Thats when I also realized how bad the haircut actually is. When she said it was gorgeous and asked if I liked it I honestly thought she was making fun of me. I legit have a haircut from early 90-s and for now have no way of fixing it. I need to wear a pony tail and wait until my hair grows. I honestly didnt show that I was upset while I was there. I didnt want to ruin someones day and I thought maybe Ill come home and find a way to style it the way it looks acceptable. But no. It looks very bad. I am specifically not listing the name of the stylist here. Maybe it was her bad day and she was distracted, I dont know. But a stylist should make sure they listen and understand what exactly a customer wants. I had to pay 220 dollars (Groupon price is 120) and spend 3.5 hours there and now I wont be able to wear my hair just loose for quite some time.
