Lenox Hill used to be a good hospital. I used to work there so I know about the high standards the hospital had under the President of the hospital Gladys George. Now under Northwell health you still have good physicians but patients are not treated well. My brother was a patient who under went cardiothoracic surgery. While he was in ICU doctors and nurses refuse to answer phones or call you back. I am my brothers health care proxy and have power of attorney for him. The social worker had my brother transferred to a hospital out of state and never called me or notified me. The Doctor in ICU threatened my brother that if he did not consent to this sudden transfer he would get a legal order to have him removed from ICU in 24 hours. No one called me or told me. I have power of attorney. My brother was coerced by threats into an out of state transfer. I am so distressed, hurt and angry. Fortunately my brother recorded these conversations with his phone. Although I think the surgeons are good in Northwell health, don't expect to be treated well in Lenox Hill hospital. Standards have fallen. There is a lack of compassion snd empathy. If you want to find out the patients condition you have to go in person. The social workers are the worst! They don't care if you are the health care proxy or have power of attorney. They don't notify family of anything.

Very good hospital, good doctors, nurses and all stuff there are so kind, and friendly. They put patients first. My mom suffered a massive stroke on 8/23/23 and was transported there from Long Island, she was there for five days, the doctors and nurses took good care of my mom, and did everything that could be possible done to save her life. Unfortunately my mom did not make it, she passed away on 08/27/23 she was pronounced brain dead five days later. I must say doctors did everything and when I say everything I really mean it to save her but God works in misterios ways and he needed an angel in heaven. Im truly thankful and will always be thankful to all the doctors and nurses that work there great job and may God bless each and every one of them.
