Very bad customer service

I've had my LV Wood Hakwood flooring for 10 years now, and it is by far the best purchase and investment we made in our home. It looks as beautiful now as it did when it was installed. I'm so happy we worked with LV Wood, my only reason for 4 stars is that I was not using a designer at the time and found the process a little confusing, wish LV had been a little more "user friendly" otherwise, no complaints.

I really wanted to have a great experience with LV Wood -- their wood samples are gorgeous and the people I dealt with were all extremely nice, but I ended up having to return TWO batches of reclaimed wood that was clearly not what I asked for and ultimately go with a different vendor. That's the short version. The long version is that I had to replace a section of the flooring in my apartment and was looking to match the reclaimed oak I'd installed from a different vendor ages ago. I sent photos and ordered reclaimed, remilled oak -- adding 20% waste to accommodate the quirks of reclaimed wood. The first batch took 12 weeks to be ready to ship (vs. the 6-8 weeks estimated) and when it arrived I knew I was in trouble.-It was terribly worm eaten and had really crude wood fill throughout (not present in my wood -- or in any of their references). They tried to tell me that's the character that people want in reclaimed wood -- but after a site visit, the principal agreed it was in bad shape, shouldn't have been sent out in the first place, and offered to replace it. Even though I was staring down the barrel of having to push construction, they were unable to expedite getting me replacement wood which was disappointing. Six weeks later the next batch arrives -- this time with deep saw marks in a significant portion of the batch. When I alerted them they tried to tell me it would sand out when it was finished -- but given the depth, it's hard to see how. I've shared the pictures with other vendors and they all agree. LV offered to replace those boards -- but after two disappointing deliveries I didn't want risk pushing construction back (again) and instead went with another vendor who was able to expedite delivery. I now have the wood I asked for and was expecting (and who was $1500 cheaper for 25% more wood). Bottom line -- I would caution anyone looking to purchase reclaimed wood here. First, if you do, I would order WAY more than 20% waste (which is tough given their high prices). I would also be EXPLICIT about what you are and aren't looking for instead of expecting them to match references you send in and which they have on their site.

As a design professional I can not say enough about my experience with this company. When I walked into the showroom, I received wonderful, no pressure service that was informative & relaxed. Since I did not identify myself as a designer, I can only assume that no preferential treatment was in play & that this is how they approach their customers. The LV WOOD flooring product is superior, with beautiful & unique options in different price categories. The delivery was on time with good communication & a small delivery window. Often the true test of a company is when a problem arises & how it is resolved. In my case, the problem was dealt with graciously & extremely fairly & served to solidify both my client's, the contractor's & my opinion of LV WOOD as the 1st rate company it is. The floor is beautiful & my client is extremely pleased, as am I, with the entire experience.
