I had mohs surgery three times at Dr. Kriegal's office. Two were on my face, and one was on my chest. People should be made aware that this is a teaching hospital, and should know that sometimes doctors in training will be partially doing the work, not Dr Kriegal. I had a trainee perform the stitching for the one on my forehead and the one on my chest. Both of these healed very badly. The one on my forehead is especially disturbing as it is so visible, and has left a terrible scar that is basically a deep hole. I am extremely disappointed every day I look at it. They should not be allowing trainees to perform any part of the surgery on the face, and they should recommend to their patients to see a plastic surgeon when it is beyond their capabilities. I wish they would have told me this, and I would have gone to a plastic surgeon and not allowed this surgery to happen there. Dr. Kriegal performed the one on my nose from start to finish, which has healed perfectly, and shows that it is really the fault of the trainee. I am really sad that they allowed someone else to train on me, as now I have to live with terrible results. Now I have a large hole in my head for the rest of my life. It has been over a year, and I still feel upset about it every day. I have since seen another mohs surgeon & dermatologist to see what there is to do about it, and when he looked, he was very surprised at how poorly done it was and how unnecessarily deep the scar is for mohs surgery. A huge mistake. I would recommend to only allow Dr Kriegal to touch anything, as he is obviously a very skilled and competent surgeon. Do not let any other doctor there participate while they are in training. I regret it every day.
