We came here today specifically to try food from the Plantega (plant-based, vegan) menu. They were knowledgeable about the menu, and the sandwich was hot, fresh, and FANTASTIC! The two men behind the counter were really kind to us. The bodega was clean, well stocked, and also had a great selection of cold diet sodas. Thank you!

6/23/23 - this deli is closed. Permanently. The landlord demanded a rent increase of $10,000/month. And so it goes in a county where the laws are outdated as 70s hairstyles. This, the closure, was confirmed to me today by staff. THE deli and convenience store for the neighborhood. Murray Hill and Kips Bay do not lack for fast casual (Rest in Power Sons of Thunder, E. 38th Street), delis, bodegas, and convenience stores, so this spot had its work cut out for it. And damned if it doesn't make some of the best wraps, egg & cheese, and salads in the ten block-three avenue radius. What at least one reviewer neglected to recognize is how food is cooked. A veggie omelet made properly requires the vegetables to be heated through on the flat top BEFORE they are added to the eggs. Does this add a minute or two or three to the making of the veggie omelet? Of course it does. And when there is one person - one - cooking the food and handling, I don't know, customized orders for 12+ people (construction site order, which I recently witnessed) while handling the Grubhub, Seamless, and in-person orders, you will wait for a tad for your food. If you don't want to wait, make the food yourself or go to a place that has a full kitchen and staff in place. The prices are fair, the food is fresh, and the people who work here are great. Period.
