Gardens Day Care

Similar to a reviewer on Yelp - we paid months in advance to have Gardens keep a spot for us. We reached out a month before the start date (3/1) to find they didnt have our spot and failed to let us know. Now we are scrambling for a solution one month out - a bit stressful! I understand changes happen but the failure to track payments and inform parents of changes is inconsiderate.

Looking for a caring, compassionate place for your child? Look no further! My children attended Gardens for over three years, and they had an incredibly positive experience throughout all periods of their lives (pandemic included). The staff at Gardens is loving, communicative, flexible, and understanding, and our children have developed into social, curious, and kind little beings because of their time at Gardens.

Our little one has been going to Gardens for almost two years and absolutely loves it. We have watched him thrive with Miss Lissette and her team. He loves running into the daycare in the morning and seeing his favorite teachers and little buddies. Hes made some wonderful connections at such a young age and its really nice as parents to see. Miss Lissette and her team are very attentive with the children. They know each child so well and work with you to navigate all the changes that happen the first few years of a persons life. We are grateful we found Gardens when we did.

I would first like to say that I have been an educator in special education for nearly a decade. Secondly, I absolutely love this school. Yes, the title says daycare but this is in every sense a school. If you need confirmation of that statement, simply talk with Lissette (the director and one of the amazing teachers) for a minute and it will be obvious that she has the perfect temperament and pedagogical expertise to create and maintain an enriching environment. When I pick my son up, he is happy to tell me about his day, and I'm very happy with his growth during his time at Gardens. The other teachers, shout out to Ms. Stephanie, are also extremely sweet and its obvious during pick up and drop off's that my son enjoys a lovely relationship with every staff member. The photos they send throughout the day document adorable and creative activities that cover arts, science, reading, various cultures, and community. When my son was eligible for NYC's 3k, we passed on several offers to keep him here. Again as a fellow educator, I have confidence that Gardens and its staff have the best interest of their students in mind in regards to academic and social emotional education and I have no reservations whatsoever recommending it to my friends and family.

My daughter had a great experience during her year at Gardens. What drew me to it initially was the bright space - clean, bright, and sunny - as well as the meals- hot, healthy mostly nonprocessed foods that were different from the usual packaged kid snacks at other daycares. Gardens provided both structured learning and activities, as well as a lot of fun free play time. The staff was wonderful - incredibly attentive, caring, and responsive to concerns, and I could tell they really cared about my child. She loved them right back, rushing in every morning sometimes without even saying goodbye to me :) Now that we have left the neighborhood, the thing we miss most of all is definitely Gardens. We wish we could take them with us!
