Blue Apron

I used Blue Apron for about a year and loved it. I developed a sesame allergy as an adult. I called to ask if Blue Apron could provide a list of ingredients for the meal kits before I chose the meals I wanted. I was told they couldnt accommodate food allergies. If Burger King can give me a potato bun instead of a sesame seeded one, then Blue Apron can figure something out. Let users know if their meal kit will have sesame oil/seeds and hoisin sauce so they dont pick a meal they cant eat.

After reading reviews and ratings of a variety of meal kit services. I decided to try Blue Apron. I found the recipes to have too many steps, take much longer to prepare than stated on the recipe, and have inadequate directions. For example, "Fill a medium pot 3/4 of the way up with salted water; cover and heat to boiling on high." This was to cook a small amount of brown rice. There is no standard 'medium pot'. Why not give the actual amount of water and salt to use? I've used other meal kit services in the past and did not encounter these issues. Subscription cancelled.

Definitely not the best meal order kit, certainly the most packaging and the most missing ingredients. The portions are average. Delivery was 2/3 of the time accurate. Food lasted in fridge for sufficient time.

Blue apron is hands down the worst meal service in the industry. Their meals often come with the wrong recipes, the wrong ingredients, or ingredients missing. After 3 weeks in a row with incorrect ingredients I cancelled their services. They then proceeded to bill me once more after cancelling within the appropriate time frame.
