I will attest to the rude host experience that a couple of other folks mentioned but man the dry pot was amazing! You make your own and mention the spice level. Definitely made up for the initial rude experience. Details on the host experience: We went without a reservation at around 4/5 pm. The place was empty and there was no staff at the entrance/host area. So we went in to find the right person to seat us and she made a whole lot of fuss about us entering in, even after we clarified why we came in.

This is a $17.45 portion including taxes i got. Is this leftover??? I mean I'm serious cuz it really looks like leftover maybe from other customer's dining food. Can't believe it. I never go back to this place.

Love this authentic place. Came in around lunch time and this place was pretty packed. Tables are very close to each other, leaving not much space. There are pre set lunch specials at better prices to choose from but I wanted to customize mine so it came to be quite pricey. For reference, I got beef tendon, squid, pork belly, celtuce, enoki mushroom, tofu skin and purple rice. The purple rice had dates in it and it was a nice surprise. The spices and seasoning in dry pot make it so delicious and flavorful that I ended up putting the sauce on my rice. Many young people gather here as this is conveniently located in east village. The service was very attentive and the waiter even helped me charge my phone. Highly recommend! I also ordered takeout from this place, I wanted liang pi but they made a mistake and gave me liang fen. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Also ordered pig ear and Chinese fried young chicken. Both are delicious!

We arrived on a Friday night without reservation with my wife and we were able to get a table without a wait (but with the condition of giving back the table after 1.5 hrs). Overall, it was really good. Would recommend and I will come back. Food was a bit tricky to order but such a great surprise: there are multiple dishes in the first part of the menu which resemble the typical Chinese restaurant, but the trick is that you have to order the pots at the end of the menu (you select the spiciness of the broth and all the ingredients you want on it). We did this as it was the recommendation of the Michelin guide and Im glad to say it was the right decision. Amazing combination of flavors with high quality ingredients. Beware that the spiciest option it is QUITE spicy (even for me that I love having spicy food). For dessert we had the Sweet Lotus root (which wasn't in the dessert list, but it accomplished that function). The root isn't sweet, but it was served over a syrup, and it was more tender than expected. Would recommend trying as an alternative dessert. Service was normal: not great but not bad. I felt a bit rushed to leave the table. Atmosphere was nice: loved the decoration but the tables were a bit to close to each other.
