We lived in the building for 5 years. We didn't plan on staying this long, but ended up staying since everything about the building was great. From leasing to front desk, everyone is always eager to help. The building is at a great location in the heart of the city with multiple commute options within and out of the city. Relative to the other apartments in the city, the units are quite spacious. Though the building may be a bit dates, the appliances are regularly refreshed and maintenance is prompt in fixing any issues that are reported. Front desk staff is extremely helpful and is always accommodating.

The communication from leasing through move-in and now is awesome. Very responsive and helpful staff. Closet space is great. Kitchen is small but appliances are good. New windows absolutely block the street noise. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

Dear Rose Associates, You asked for my comments on our experience in the 211 West 56th apartments. Its a remarkable story for us. In a few months we will have been in the apartment for ten years. During that time we have had no disappointments, no complaints, nothing to mar our moving-in impression of it as the best possible way to live in the center of town. Initially attracted by the location, we came to appreciate the quality of the building (it is, for example, very quietmust have thick walls), the friendliness (not just courtesy) of the staff, the professionalism of the maintenance staff, the amazingly pleasant other tenants, and the overall comfort and convenience of the apartment house. I have been living in the building for more than 5 years. The building is very well maintained and clean at all times. The staff is exceptional, very helpful and cooperative. Any maintenance issues you may have in the apartment are resolved within a few hours. The apartments are huge for NYC standards, plenty of closet space. The location is great, close to Central Park, Times Sq, theater district, nice restaurants and bars. There is no rooftop per se, but you are allowed to go up and enjoy the nice views the building has to offer. I read a lot of complaints about the noise in reviews by other people and hence would like to mention that we now have double paned windows and noise is no longer an issue. The only reason i gave it 4 star was because of elevator issues that the building has sometimes. We once got stuck in the elevator for almost half an hour. Though, the front desk was very prompt in calling help to fix it. It was late Sunday night and technician got here within 30 min and got us out.
