I normally dont go to acupuncturists as I usually tend to stay within what my primary care physician (aka western doctors) prescribes in terms of remedies... but after I sprained my ankle, many visits later (xrays, noTHING was broken, just RICE and sent me home), my ankles swelling and the pain and bruising did not go away after two and a half weeks. It was painful to walk. My mom decided to bring me to Dr. Huang who she heard about from word of mouth. Wait times are going to be long, because he has so many patients (well deserved, hes amazing!) but doesnt have a receptionist. Its sort of like an honor code; you enter the room and ask whos the last person in, and you just remember who they are and go after theyre seen. People are usually very good about keeping their place in line so it doesnt get too muddled. He doesnt take more than 15 minutes per patient, sometimes it can be as quick as 5 minutes. When I was seen he was very conversational and kind; asked me what was wrong and he massaged my ankle, felt around the tendons and told me that my tendons and nerves were not set correctly thus the continued swelling. The blood wasnt moving and was simply sitting there. Then several somewhat painful twists and pushing and pulling later, my ankle felt immediate relief. I couldnt believe it. He gave me two medical plasters (ointment that he himself places), an ace bandage to cover it, and sent me on my way. The next day my entire foot was back to its regular size. Still a bit painful, as body parts dont need immediately heal within a day, but now I can walk without too much hindrance. Dr. Huang is worth the wait, and his quality of work shows through how much he cares for his patients and how many patients go to him.
