I have been seeing Dr. Chan for 15 years with exceptional results. Having initially been referred to him by my internist I have continued to receive treatments for a variety of issues. I review Dr. Chan's treatments with each GP or specialist with whom I consult - including for my recent golf-related disc problems. Dr. Chan has a unique combination of skills bringing an understanding of Western medicine with his widely-acknowledged expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Acupuncture is a treatment which doesn't lend itself to standard western studies and reviews. As a result the skill of the practitioner is what you must primarily rely on. I have discussed this with others who have received treatments from what I would consider "newcomers" or "part-timers" including MDs who have received some training in Chinese medicine. I have strongly recommended that unless they see a practitioner with Dr. Chan's level of experience and dedication that it is likely not worth their while. Much of what I describe to friends is anecdotal, but nevertheless very persuasive.  Such anecdotes may explain why Dr. Chan (a recognized author and lecturer on the subject) has received such recognition from the US medical community.

I have been receiving life saving care from Dr. Tsoi Nam Chan for over 35 years.  His treatment has kept me healthy and stable as an active 63-year-old man.  I have received holistic acupuncture treatment, natural herbs, exceptional medical advice guiding my health and well-being.  I have also  had Dr. Chan treat many of my family members with exceptional results.  I have referred Dr. Chan to my friends and associates, specifically when Western medicine is prone to suggest surgical and chemical treatment of disease and ailments.   UN Acupuncture Center is one of the most qualified the professional treatment centers in the United States.   I have tried to other acupuncturists that do not have the depth and professional skills that I know Dr. Chan has mastered with the treatment of thousands of patients.  In my wallet,  I have a card that says if anything should ever happen to me... call Dr. Chan in case of emergency for any decisions concerning my health.   I have always been indebted to him for keeping me healthy  and on the right track all these years.I have not met any  physicians who can compare with his compassion, experience and professionalism.

Absolutely terrible 'doctor'. He has zero bedside manner and minus zero empathy. Plus he won't discuss anything with you. I needed clarification of his treatment on me and without thought of patient-doctor confidentiality, he announced an incorrect diagnosis in his waiting room so everyone could hear! Do NOT waste your money on him. The treatment did nothing for me. I switched to another acupuncturist!
