National Car Rental

They closed early so I couldn't get my car. Awesome. I'm never renting from National again.

Great service and great car in Newburgh NY. The only problem I have is with the people that check and clean car after you turn it in. I left my $600 prescription Oakley sunglasses and Oakley case in the center console. I did not lose them, I forgot them. I know where they were left and it’s my fault for forgetting to grab them before I turned in the car. I filed on Nationalcarlostandfound.com and received a phone call saying they looked thru he whole the car and did not find them. I told the person on the phone that whoever cleaned the car out has the glasses as I did not lose them. I knew EXACTLY where I left them but forgot to grab them. My fault I know but they have people working for them that decided to keep them instead of returning them to me. Just a FYI , if you forget anything of value in your rental car and return it there yo7 will probably never see it again… Won’t stop me from using their service, everything was great otherwise.. Thanks for listening to my rant…lol

Terrible. No one there on weekends to get our car. No one answered the various phone numbers. Three of us could not get anyone to answer phone. When I finally did she hung up on me. NEVER AGAIN!!

We rented a car at JFK airport and then drove to West Point the next day to pick up our son who is a cadet. When I arrived at West Point I turned off the car only to realize that my husband still had the keys back on Long Island. I called National’s Road side assistance to have the car towed and then took an Uber to Stewart Airport to rent another car to get back to Long Island. There was no one representing National at Stewart Airport, so I then called the local office and they sent someone to pick us up via shuttle and take us to the local office. At the local office I explained my situation and that I needed to rent another car to get myself and my 2 children back to our hotel on Long Island. I was first told by management that I couldn’t rent another car until the car was picked up by the tow truck, however, after a half hour management changed their mind and stated that since my husband had the keys in his possession that they would not allow me to rent another car. They know I was stranded there with 2 children, but management didn’t care and left me to fend for myself. Worst experience ever, I ended up being stranded in West Point for 9 hours! National does not care about their customers. Worst customer service ever!
