Optum Pediatrics - Lake Success - Marcus Ave

I used to love Select Pediatrics. I have been trying to get a referral for my child to see his allergist and have been calling for the last week. No one answers the telephone at the receptionist area or the Nurse's extension. I have left over 6 messages in both areas, and no one has bothered to respond to my request. My child missed his allergy shot and if he misses more than one, he will have to begin the entire allergy process from the beginning. So disappointed and unfortunately will be looking for another healthcare provider.

My sons have been going to this practice for the last 3 1/2 years and the care Team including Jaya, Patty and Dr Hawkins are a pleasure to work with. The front desk person today was completely obnoxious and disrespectful. Her attitude today makes it harder for me to continue bringing my sons to this practice. Shes very impatient and unprofessional and I hope Dr Hawkins addresses this before it becomes too late.

The doctors are great but the ongoing front desk issues are a huge deterrent to wanting to remain here. I don't know if the doctors don't read the reviews but in terms of responding to phone calls the front desk staff is awful.

Front desk does not answer the phone. They overbook patients and we ended up waiting over 90 minutes to be seen by a doctor. The office went downhill when taken over by the new administration. I love the doctors, but not sure how much longer I can tolerate the problems with scheduling an appointment.

Despite having made appointments months in advance, I received a cancellation notice less than 24 hours before my scheduled visit. The lack of notice was highly inconvenient and disrespectful. When I sought a resolution, the front desk staff's only suggestion was to reschedule my appointment three weeks later, during school hours. This disregard for my time was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I expressed my frustration, I was "accidentally" hung up on during a transfer to a supervisor. This incident left me feeling disrespected and unheard. It took an additional 45 minutes of callling back before I could finally reach a live person. The fact that all my previous calls were mysteriously transferred to voicemail raises serious concerns about the office's professionalism and reliability. Patients rely on doctor's offices for their health and well-being, and experiences like mine erode trust and impact the quality of care received. I sincerely hope that the management of this doctor's office takes prompt action to address these issues by improving staffing and training. TL:DR: My front desk experience at this doctor's office was highly disappointing. I urge potential patients to carefully consider their options and seek healthcare providers who prioritize professionalism, efficient communication, and patient satisfaction.
