        A professional and well run office. Dr. Frank and his staff CARE about his patients. I had 2 surgeries in three months with him. I never had to worry about paperwork, insurance or anything. They took care of it all. I went thru hell, but I felt that Dr. Frank and his staff had my back.

        Dr. Frank performed the surgery as required, and there is no complaint with the quality of the work. It was satisfactory. The anesthesia was effective. The hospital itself is a bit like LaGuardia Airport. Unfortunately Dr. Frank prescribed an alcohol based pain killer to be taken orally. He gave no special instructions. When I got home and followed the instructions on the bottle, I suffered excruciating pain. It was a crying shame. Imagine applying alcohol to a raw surgical wound in a sensitive area like the throat. OUCH. I took contra-band opiod pills instead which except for the pain of swallowing were really effective. When I explained my ordeal to the doctor, he said I should have mixed the liquid in applesauce. Why didn't I know that before the ordeal? Why didn't he tell me? Why wasn't he a bit more empathic? His explanation about the suggested after-care including radiation therapy was poor. He could not provide even one scientific study to support the efficacy of the therapy and seemed shocked that I even requested it. "What kind of doctor would give a patient placebo for a therapy he knows works?" Those were his words. I believe he was sincere. Clueless, but sincere. My reply, "A scientist." His associates in radiology and oncology were also useless in providing scientific evidence that their therapy would work. I chose an unconventional intravenous vitamin "C" therapy that was pioneered by Linus Pauling. It has been used effectively for decades in China and I found several clinics providing the painless and effective cure for cancer right in Nassau County.       Douglas Frank, MD, is a head and neck surgeon at Northwell Health. He sees patients in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in New Hyde Park and at the Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Huntington. Dr Frank performs surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Glen Cove Hospital. Dr. Frank joined Northwell in 2007 as chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. This critical role helped establish the first fully integrated multidisciplinary oncology program for patients on Long Island and in Queens with head and neck tumors. He would go on to become Northwell Health Cancer Institute’s first director of surgical oncology, and is currently the Institute’s director of operations. “Our head and neck oncology program at Northwell evolved into one of regional and national renown,” he says. “We have the ability to deliver sophisticated surgical and nonsurgical multidisciplinary head and neck oncologic care at multiple sites throughout our network.” Dr. Frank completed residencies at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, and a fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Frank is professor of otolaryngology and molecular medicine at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He serves as chair of Long Island Jewish Medical Center’s Cancer Committee, which is recognized by the Commission on Cancer—a coalition of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients. His research in head and neck oncology has resulted in numerous publications, awards and national presentations. “I really love guiding patients through what could be very complex care,” says Dr. Frank. “I appreciate the opportunity to help improve the lives of the people I care for, and through mentoring the careers of the people I work with.”
