Hudson Valley Rose Bed and Breakfast

My wife and I stayed here for a fall weekend to enjoy the Halloween activities of the Hudson River Valley. The property is exactly what you'd want as a peaceful, beautiful and relaxing B&B experience. Doug was extremely knowledgeable of the surrounding area and was very helpful as we planned our activities for the weekend. And we cannot say enough good things about his elegant, unique and flavorful breakfast menu which will make you want to say goodbye to plain old eggs and bacon forever! We will definitely plan to stay at the Hudson Valley Rose again!

My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary here, and it was so magical! We stayed for 2 nights and the rooms inside the B&B are superb, there is so much detail, you really feel like you traveled back in time. The owner, Doug, is such an amazing host!! He really makes you feel well taken care of and prepares DELICIOUS breakfasts! He happily accommodated my dietary restrictions (lactose intolerant) and my husband's (vegan). My husband and I are back in NYC and are still reminiscing about our weekend here. We will have to go back at some point. 10/10 highly recommend.

Where to start? My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while in the area for work, and wow we had such a memorable time. This place is an absolute gem. I could write a novel about how much we enjoyed the historic home, the amazing room, the nature, the views from our window but on top of all that, the owner Doug makes the experience immensely better. First of all hes an incredibly kind person, shared all the history facts about the property with me, and makes an absolutely amazing breakfast. He truly made it feel like we were his guest in his own home. I wish we were able to stay here for 3 weeks instead of 3 days. Thank you, Doug!

Upon arriving to the Hudson Valley Rose, you are greeted with a whimsical road leading to the main house. From the cottage charm to the beautiful land surrounding the bed and breakfast you sense as if you have stepped into a fairytale. Doug, the owner, welcomed my partner and I with absolute warmth and hospitality. We stayed at the Manchester Cottage which was unbelievably romantic with the bedroom fireplace, antique character, deep cooper tub and rainfall water shower (my boyfriends favorite feature of all!). Not only is Doug a wonderful host, he is an outstanding cook, as well, lavishing us with a delectable breakfast every morning. We will surely be returning to this enchanting retreat!

My wife and I were looking for a tiny getaway not far from New York City when we found Hudson Valley Rose bed and breakfast. We booked a two night stay for a mini honeymoon in the Manchester Cottage and were absolutely delighted with our choice. The room was beyond adorable, the bathroom was something out of a home design magazine, absolutely gorgeous. The bed was heavenly and the beautiful views of the property were visible through every window. Before arriving, we received a detailed email with many suggestions for dining and activities. The morning of our trip I received a text from Doug welcoming us to their beautiful bed and breakfast and offering help with directions and check in. Upon arrival, Doug greeted us with a warm welcome and snacks for our room, we love snacks! He gave us a quick introduction to the inn and told us when breakfast would be served the following morning. Breakfast was served at a beautiful dining room table the next morning in the form of a gourmet three course meal. Doug is not only a thoughtful and welcoming host, he is also a fantastic cook. The next morning breakfast was served in a similar way with another delicious three course meal (all new foods). The above would be more than enough reason for me to give a 5 star review, but I have to mention specifically how kind and helpful Doug was during our short stay there. He had given us many recommendations on places to check out during the day and was such a pleasant and charming person to just sit and talk with. It was truly an amazing experience that we will not soon forget!
