After the Japan trip I am looking for places in NYC that have the same vibe as some of the places I visited. Tres Vert took me back to my trip and reignited memories. The matcha latte and the lavander latte were prepared with much care, they looked fabulous. We also ordered matcha and creme brulee pancakes which were airy and fluffy as they can be. My companion stated the creme brulee pancakes could have been less sweet, the matcha ones were well balanced. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and not crowded. I liked the atmosphere and how small details contributed to a good vibe. Ill go back for dinner and cocktails!

Vert Frais is a plant-themed cafe offering Japanese-inspired brunch in Long Island City. The menu includes ramen, chirashi bowls and omurice. Impeccable service our server changed our plates and cutlery between courses. Matcha Cream Souffl Pancakes It came with three fluffy thick souffl pancakes, with a plop of matcha cream and matcha powder sprinkle. The pancakes were fluffy and moist. I loved the mixed berries served on the side. It still didnt surpass Flippers, yet it was satisfying enough in American standard. Totally worth my long trek. Omelet Rice The slippery egg was cooked to perfection. The fried rice was tossed with bacon and beans, unexpectedly well seasoned and saucy. Not the best omurice in nyc but it lived up to my expectation at a brunch spot. It would be even better if we could cut the omelet open ourselves. Rose Matcha Latte A verified matcha latte by two lifelong matcha lovers. The matcha was balanced and strong, with a floral hint from rose syrup. Very aesthetic with rose petals on top. Lavender Latte I struggled a bit before ordering it because Im afraid of artificial lavender flavoring. This lavender latte was surprisingly delectable. The espresso and lavender fragrance sparked good chemistry together. The two complimentary shortbread were yum too.
