We never tell clients that there is no pay for tax returns, as we do not prepare tax returns for free, we give all free estimates and discuss all numbers on tax returns with clients including fees, and every single person signs off on everything. Many times people leave all forms on the tax returns and have additional income from the IRS that was not on the tax return and that could be why you have a balance.
