So you don't have to read this entire review: Cons: We never met the doctor, Dr Olivia Drutjons, who did the surgery, nor did I speak more than ten words to her. In fact, when I dropped my dog I had to ask who was performing the dental. The receptionist seemed annoyed to tell me. After the dental, they wouldn't give me straight answers They wouldn't give me her records; after I sent a follow-up email stating that I was coming in the next day, I had to go back the following day to get them Took a day and a half to get the x-rays They were pushing me to agree to pull 13 teeth; when the initial vet said her teeth looked pretty good, she was at only stage one. They didn't cut her nails as promised, but it was stated as "complimentary " on the bill. They gave me a prescription for the food, but it wasn't the brand I requested, as my other dog is on that brand. There was no justification as to why this was. Pros: Ease of getting an appointment The evening staff is kind; the per diem vet we met on the first visit was also helpful. We saw the Levittown Animal Hospital booth at the pet expo. The staff seemed very pleasant. They offered a discount on a dental for our dog. We called to schedule an appointment; scheduling appointments is a breeze. We saw a very kind doctor. Turns out she was a per diem. After a long look, this doctor told us our dog's teeth had tartar buildup but were in good shape. (I understand she couldn't get a detailed look since she was awake, lol.) We scheduled the dental appointment again with ease. They told us it would range from $ 300-800 per tooth if she needed extractions, but it was unexpected. On the day of the procedure, I took her in. I got a call a few hours later from probably a tech saying they needed to extract 13 TEETH. Whoa! I said no, as I wanted a 2nd opinion. They called back two more times to talk me into doing it. 13 teeth, at a minimum of $300 PER TOOTH, is an additional $4,000 on top of the $1000 deposit I left when I dropped her off!! Aside from the mere cost, I can't imagine the immense pain the dog would suffer from having 13 teeth pulled simultaneously. That's like 1/3 of her teeth. (They should have approached this part very differently. The tech should have called and said one tooth is bad and we should pull it; 12 others are loose. Do you want us to take those as well? Instead, the approach raised my guard and got everyone on edge.) When I went to pick Sushi up, they were less than friendly. The tech that brought her out to me said she got nippy with them. This shocked me because she had never nipped. I asked if it was just after the anesthesia; first, she said yes, then she said no. If she nipped, I believe it was because she was scared. I couldn't get a straight answer on anything. The paperwork said they would give me a prescription food if I wanted; first, it was no, then the vet was busy, then she changed it to they would mail it to me. I believe she had just left for the day. When I finally got the prescription the next day, after emailing and going in, it was for the wrong brand. I clearly stated to the techs and in the email which brand I wanted because my other dog is on a different food but that brand. I didn't have it in me to start another issue. I was just happy to get out of there (with a major headache, lol). I asked if I needed to give her a dose of the antibiotics that night, and the first answer was yes, then it was no; she got the total dose already. I additionally asked for all of her records, including the surgical reports. They did not give me those. I had to go back the following day for them. Even then they didn't give me the x-rays. They emailed them to me hours later. I never met the doctor that performed her surgery; I should have pushed for that before dropping her. Even when she called, she was very cold, didn't want to explain the issues with the dog's teeth. As much as we liked the evening workers, I will not return to or recommend this office.
