    I was treated like I was criminal. I didnt feel like a customer once I had a problem. I Found a better place to do business. A place that appreciates a good customer.

    Brought used Cub Cadet mower in for service. After reading previous one star reviews and snarky owner responses, i normally would not have. I bought this used mower in April private sale and the 94 year old previous owner had a receipt from Schutts for $513 for a full service including new belts done in January to get ready for mowing season. I never made it thru one complete mowing without issues with this mower. When i brought it to Schutts i showed the service writer who has a rather abrasive personality, the previous work done on the repair order from 3 months earlier ($513) and less than 10 hours on the tractor since then. He responded "we do yearly maintenance every year for that man, told him he didn't need the belts but he insisted on replacing". I left the mower and told him not to repair anything until i was advised of cost. FOUR weeks later i received call that repairs would cost $350 for new belts, a guide and a module. Told them not to do work, I'd be in to retrieve the machine. When i picked it up i told same abrasive man it wasn't fair to pay for new belts with less than 10 hours on them. His response was "we don't stand behind work we haven't done". ???? My receipt for that work was clearly marked Schutts mower repair at the top plus he originally acknowledged the work order. I also can't help but wonder if the 94 yr old previous owner did NOT receive new belts and got ripped off. Plus who in their right mind would send a tractor out the door with DISABLED safety features to an elderly customer?? Not only will i never use this business, I'll never buy another Cub. My "cheaper" big box store mowers (Craftsmen Troy Built) have given me a ton more service with much less cost and issues and who needs to spend $500plus on yearly maintenance?? I'm sure there will be a snarky owner response to this for whatever reason, it's sure to be my fault. My advice to owner .... follow the lead of the classy business owners that respond to the disgruntled customer with "I'm sorry you had this experience, please call me so that we can discuss the matter".
