Cookerz Blend

I was going to a show at the UBS arena and I love getting dinner and drinks before a show. I was looking for something in the area. We went to another establishment initially and while waiting around with out being updated on the actual wait time we called Cookerz and were informed there was no wait. We walked the few blocks down and were seated immediately. There was only one other person at the bar. I really thought I was on vacation in Jamaica. The paint colors, the dj (playing HITS!), and the ceiling.. just the entire vibe. I hesitated drinking the water with ice because I forgot were I was lol we viewed the menu using the QR code on the table (we were able to pay using that as well). We let the gentleman know we were in a bit of a rush and he took our orders and confirmed everything before going to work on our drinks. He gave suggestions and was pleasant and personable. I ordered the escovitch fish tacos, rum punch, and French fries. The tacos came with 3, the fries were crispy, flavorful and hot. The rum punch was a hefty serving and it was tasty and delicious. It was strong but truly tasted like punch. My friends ordered the jerk chicken tacos, oxtail, fried chicken with oxtail gravy, rice and peas, steamed veggies, and passion fruit margaritas. Everything was tasty and a good portion size. There were no complaints. They brought everything out in a timely fashion and we didnt hear any we nuh ave dat. lol A few people came in to pick up to go orders and about 2 more people came in by the bar but it was really low key for a Friday night. Maybe it gets more crowded later in the night but Id definitely come back before the next UBS event I attend. I was pleasantly surprised with this nice local spot.

This restaurant is by far the best in the area. Service, food, atmosphere are all top notch. If you visit a few times they great you by your name.
