The Administration of the school is the worst. They have no respect for parents. They are entitled and have no accountability due to the superintendent dr Stapleton who himself has shown contemp for the parents and students.

Initially, I was a huge fan of this school until this year. The lack of professionalism is disgusting. Specifically Dr. Hunter-Spivey is a liar who will NOT follow through with anything presented to her and when confronted she will lie as if you lack comprehension skills. The principal Dr. Hines said "I am a much better teacher then principal" which has been proven as last year due to my granddaughter's allergies - I had to keep her out of school for a week because her medical needs couldn't be accommodated! This year I have sent several e-mails and left messages and to date have not received a response. If you are a strong advocate for your child - this is not the institution for them! The teachers are NOT required to have certification hence their lack of professionalism. I have personally watched teachers speak to children in a manner that would make an adult loose it over their child. My granddaughter is still currently attending the Hempstead location however, not for much longer! Oh and I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the area is becoming increasingly disturbing as the addicts roam free and the police are a joke. The traffic enforcers are more concerned with giving tickets then ensuring that the children are safe. I can't speak for the other campuses however, DO NOT SEND THEM TO THE HEMPSTEAD LOCATION ... Parents must remember that this is the most important time in their child's life and while we all want them to be educated so that they can go off and BE GREAT, leaving them in the care of those who are not genuinely concerned with their well-being is neglectful on OUR part. Do Not be fooled by the uniforms and mission statement this location is NOT IT! From the security guards all the way up to the principal this school is a huge disappointment! I must say that Mrs. Phillips does care about the children as did Ms. Brooks (no longer there) but we all know it can't just be one or two - LEADERSHIP REFLECTS ATTITUDE ...

Do Not Work here they do not pay well and its a modern day slave plantation, not only do they not treat teachers well, did i mention the compensation doesn't match the unforeseen expectations, and the "reactionary" environment that the board member created. Picture the blind leading the blind from the very top to the lower levels. Ms. S. O'niel isn't going to pay you your worth to begin with so don't waste your time!! Rather than worrying about what one can bring to the school environment, she is concerned with, how well does one get along with staff members, to be honest she doesn't even know the culture of the schools, because its the administration who make the teachers work load more challenging not the teachers. The Long Hours lack of pay and lack of work life balance is why you shouldn't work here. Did I mention you have to earn your time off?
