My daughter recently had a distressing encounter with a middle-aged man at this gym, and I feel compelled to share her experience. It was a traumatizing incident that left her feeling shaken and uncomfortable. This man, whom she had observed being rude to other women at the gym before, approached her out of the blue and rudely instructed her to move away from the punching bags. It wasn't just the request itself that made her feel attacked, but also the intimidating manner in which he flexed his muscles and stared at her for an extended period of time. Understandably disturbed by this encounter, she reported it to the gym manager, only to have her concerns dismissed as the manager stated the man is "harmless." To make matters worse, she later discovered that this man frequently makes unsolicited comments to female members of the gym. In an effort to warn others about this individual's behavior, someone wrote a negative review the next day. Shockingly, my daughter received a threatening email from the gym, accusing her of writing the review under a false name. They even went so far as to cancel her membership, despite the fact that the negative review had nothing to do with her. It is disheartening to see the gym prioritize protecting this misogynistic man over believing and supporting my daughter. It is crucial for the owners to acknowledge that being male does not inherently imply being correct. This entire circumstance has caused profound distress to both myself and my daughter. It is disappointing to see that some men still hold onto a "boys club" mentality in this day and age. To all the women considering becoming members of this gym, I urge you to pay attention! I sincerely hope that no one else has to endure the same degree of harassment that my daughter experienced as a result of the actions of this misogynistic individual. Your establishment must strive for improvement!
