Set in the hamlet of Germantown, NY, a quiet and friendly community, this is quite good as 'senior housing' (62+) goes....pleasant grounds, well-maintained apartments. However, there are several things to consider before moving here.....First...the noise problem. There is virtually no insulation between apartments...the problem is especially severe between upstairs/downstairs apartments. There is a 9 PM to 9 AM 'quiet rule' to help mitigate the problem but it is not enforced.Secondly, the sewage problem...periodically, sewage erupts into the ground-floor apartments. There is no compensation for property damaged or lost; residents are simply urged to have renter's insurance.
