Beautiful school and beautiful people! I felt as if I walked into the secret garden. Everyone was genuinely nice. Loved the school and the classrooms.

This's a scintillating nest for kids to explore their potential and develop their skill. Teachers and faculties are all obliging and warm-hearted; any family enters this school would be amazed by its close-knit community, sense of belonging and extraordinary inclusiveness. Main lessons and extensive hand-on curriculums like natural science labs, gardening and woodworking would forever be a cherishing recollection of my lifetime. Here I developed my interest of natural science, fine arts and even musicals which I wouldn't even fantasize to participate before. Here I learned the magic of education--that's a "thing" can alter your life. If you're a bud, you grow into a towering tree; if you're a pebble, you transmute into a shiny gold; if you're a hatchling, you waft into the thin air and cavort about firmament--and unequivocally all those meritorious, miraculous transcendences had fostered and will foster at WSGD because of its special charm.

I paid for the parent and child class for my 1 year old and 3 year old and after the first class I get an email from Carol Proctor telling us this program isn't right for my family. She wasn't even present to observe, and I found the email rather dismissive and very unprofessional. I received a full refund but no explanation as to why. After review of the class, I remember a few situations that occurred. The teacher Mrs McCarthy was very unwelcoming and cold. Her attitude felt as if she was annoyed being there and after her talking about herself a lot I could see as to why. She seemed overworked. There was a meal time/snack time and my 3 year old did not want to sit there along with the other adults discussing  their adult lives and what brought them to the Waldorf school.  The conversation was not about the children and my son was getting bored. So he got up and I was instructed to bring him back over. My son said "this is their meal time not my meal time". He wasn't wrong. Children want to explore and play especially in a new space. I felt the teacher was very rigid as well and we as parents didn't receive the guidelines for the class till end of the class. So that right there wasn't fair if we "violated" any rules.  My 1 year old also fell and cried for more than 1 min and I felt Mrs. McCarthy was annoyed at that. In addition, instead of Mrs McCarthy singing this creepy tune, and churning butter, she should have been on top of the very hazardous condition I found with a wagon that had a super sharp rusty edge that I prevented another child from harming themself. For all the money they charge, one would think they would purchase new safe items for play. I was excited to learn about the Waldorf but after my experience I'm glad it didn't work out. I have a very bad taste in my mouth with the way I was treated. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. It felt very judgmental. It's supposed to be about learning and that is not what I gathered. It was very cultish. Then I researched a bit and found many parents feeling similarly and that their children were not prepared for life after sending them to this school. This is actually my first review ever and I felt it was necessary to write one. I would never want my children to be a part of something super strict without guidance and warmth. I'm also in another mom group online who took this course and they too felt it was strange when they went. I at least was open to it all and willing to learn, but I was not welcome back. My motto is everything happens for a reason. And it's their loss. My children are very advanced for their age and am looking for the right program to help guide us on this parent journey. Spend your money elsewhere and let your child soar. Thanks for reading.

After extensive research we chose to enroll our son at Waldorf of Garden City.  The children, especially in early childhood, are taught in a way that is so unique, special, and meaningful that parents often alter the trajectory of their lives to keep their children at this school.  I know a family personally the moved from China to allow their daughter the opportunity to attend.  There is no other place that takes more care to consider every aspect of child development.  If you are at all curious I would highly encourage you to take a tour.  Many parents are teachers themselves which speaks volume about the respect they have for the curriculum.
