I am a long time friend and customer of the owner as well as the fact they have done work for me previously. I live in a private Village and it requires a licensed electrician in the specific Village. When another contractor screwed me I contacted them to help me address a few issues and resolve my permit issues. The son who has taken over the business, Andrew - who by the way left himself a good review - so nice of himself, came and looked at the house and the existing job that had been done. He found alleged violations and problems. He then prepared an estimate of $1500.00 and explained that it shouldn't go over that and hopefully be less. He then went on to demand $1500.00 up front to do the estimated work, at this point I started feeling concerned - What contractor refunds money? Exactly, so I set out to spend $1500.00. I gave him a check UP FRONT before work was started, I trusted him. Low and behold while I was told it should be a 2 day job, this stretched out to 2 weeks, an hour here and 2 hours there, and just dragging on forever. Then he had the electrical inspector come to check out the existing issues and the inspector was fine, not too concerned, but Andrew made a big deal over everything. He called me and claimed it may go over by a few dollars, at this point I just want to get this done. Finally the job was completed after 3 weeks. He claimed he had to figure out the remaining bill. This took another 2 weeks and then I was hit with a bill for $3150.00 not quite a few dollars over, more than double the original estimate which I was told it should be even less initially. I was shocked and then contacted another electrician I know who is licensed in the county but not the village and he came to the house, inspected and wrote up an estimate. His estimate was $1745.00 at a FULL retail price. After further investigation it then appeared that Andrew Ludemann charged me twice for work when I asked for an itemized invoice line by line. I then provided him with the proof that he double billed me and the absurd amount that he was trying to charge me with, and mind you at this point he had my completed certificate that he was holding 'hostage' from the inspector. He responded with an apology that he over billed me and reduced it to $800.00 extra, which honestly is still absurd but I needed the certificate and just wanted to move on. Well, lets see, Covid-19 hit, yes, and everything was eventually shut down with the exception of essential businesses which his falls under that and I have been contacting him for 2 months with a check waiting for him. Texts, Phone calls, emails all went unanswered - ZERO communication. I lost a potential sale on my home due to the open permit and today 5/21/2020 I finally was able to get the certificate. First, Andrew demanded a certified bank check, and to meet at a public place, Dunkin Donuts. This again was completely absurd, I am trying to hunt you down and pay you to get the certificate and you want to hold it hostage and then demand a bank check? Finally he agreed to come to my house and give us the certificate and pick up his lousy $800.00. In closing, I will say that I WILL NEVER recommend this company. I plan on filing a complaint with the Dept of Consumer Affairs and the BBB. I am far from done, he tried to cry to me and my wife that he has personal problems and family issues. I am sorry, but we all have problems, communication is the key to everything and there is no way in this electronic age that you have no way of communication. Lastly, the ONLY reason that he finally called me - I begged the Building Inspector from the Village to call him and the Electrical Inspector to try and help me get the certificate, that I believe is the ONLY reason he finally surfaced. Good Luck Andrew, it appears you've really tarnished your fathers once great reputation. From what I understand he was always a respected businessman and now the business is suffering due to your lack of ability to successfully run a business with professionalism.

Very pleased with the service and quality of the work! He told us up front of the cost, and proceed with the work. After years of needing to update our aging electrical main panel and home re-wiring, we finally got it done- very neat! THANK YOU- highly recommend!
