image Absolutely unprofessional and lacks knowledge of what he is doing. He came to fix the boiler which was not igniting. With a simple research about the boiler not igniting on google or youtube, the basic recommendation is to test/replace the ignitor. He didn't even test the ignitor (I doubt he even knew such things exists). During his visit, he unplugged and replugged some wires. Literally, just disconnecting the wires, blowing it to remove any dirt and reconnecting again. Then out of nowhere he came with a diagnose saying the ignitor control box (not the ignitor spark) may not be working and he needs to get it. Now he hands me the invoice of $168 for the visit. I was under the impression that I would be paying him for the visit and parts once he fixes it (that is how everyone else works). He insisted to pay upfront and he would come back with the parts at his earliest. He didn't come that day (mind that it was a cold winter and we were out of heat). Next day, he calls up in the evening saying he couldn't find the part and he needs to get it shipped from another state (really...) and tells me that it will cost around 6-700 and would take at least a week. Being frustrated I almost decided to go with a new boiler. As I was collecting the estimates for a new boiler, I came across another technician who offered to help. I told him I am not going to pay him upfront until the unit was fixed and he was fine with it. He came took a look, did some test with the voltmeter and found out immediately the ignitor was faulty. He drove to the nearby home depot bought a $40 ignitor and replaced it. BOOM the heating was working again. Not anything rocket science there like what Alex was thinking (importing parts from out of state, spending 6-700 for parts and some more for labor). Long story short, Avoid this guy. I hired this guy as I support local businesses, but I feel that giving honest reviews is helpful for others who may not fall into same circumstances.

image Just used Alex to fix a zoning problem in my home. He's extremely knowledgeable. This is already the second time I used him and will continue to do so if I have any future problems. After 2 years of renovating my house, I can differentiate who is "full of it" and who is on "top of it"  Alex is the real deal and he'll troubleshoot any problem.

image I called Alex regarding problem with my boiler not firing up.He came at designated time. He patiently troubleshooted  the problem and wasable to fix it. He  doesn't have a problem with explaining to me much of the  function of heater.I was thinking that I will be charge me  lot for the time that he spent and the complexity of the problem but I would say  charged me reasonably. He also very friendly  .He also made a follow up on the next night to check  if everything is working fine.I will definitely call him next time  I  have a problem with my boiler .He;s the real thing and he knows what he is doing. A++++++

image I actually found this company thanks to Yelp and I'm so glad such a website exists!  My situation was that we had a warranty company that would do a yearly maintenance check and do service calls if we needed it to try to insure my mom, a 91 yr. old widow) would never be w/o heat.  After having had a  maintenance check a couple of months back my mom noticed fire coming from a joint in the pipes of the boiler; when the technician came out after checking it said it was "condemned".  SO to our horror we found ourselves w/o heat! and needing a boiler right away since my mom is 91 yrs.old and also has tenants on the second floor.  To add to this I had a flight to CA the next day!  I had no clue where to look for a good company.  After checking Yelp I was impressed w/the reviews of this company.  SO I called and talked to Alex.  He came that VERY evening w/a few other specialists.  I was very worried since it would be my 91 yr. old mom alone trying to manage dealing w/the installation.  But Alex was  very accommodating going out of his way to meet w/us the next day to finalize the agreement.  He also took care to try to find a reasonable solution and even offered ways to make it more affordable for my mother who is on a fixed budget.  My mom's house is very old and there were many obstacles to consider in terms of getting the boiler to where it needed to be and having the proper water, electrical and venting connections.  Alex and his team worked very hard to overcome the obstacles that my mom 's house presented.  After doing the work they noticed that they needed to change the thermostat since the old one was over 40 yrs. old.  Alex called me in CA to explain the added costs.  In all my mom was w/o heat for only two nights.  After I came back I saw that they did a lot of work to put the boiler in place.  My mom also lost one of the receipts and Alex offered to give us another one and also directed us to where to find information for the thermostat since  my mom could not find the one they gave her.  Alex also called to see if everything was working properly and assured us that he would be there to fix anything if anything he replaced would have problems.  I am so happy to have found this company and I feel so assured that if anything happens my mom has someone to call that she can trust.
