We employed Right at Home to care for my parents three afternoons per week. From beginning to end they were a wonderful agency to deal with. They carefully chose a caregiver who would work well with my parents' needs, and they were correct. The service that they give is terrific in terms of essentially 24 hour availability, easy to get information and to make changes in the days/times of service, sending the invoices directly to the insurance company, having an option for one caregiver for two people, etc. I would highly recommend using this agency for arranging care for elderly people at their home.

Like many of us with elderly parents, I was desperately struggling to find quality home care for my mom. After so much disappointment w/Medicaid-related agencies, I thought, "The best care will only come from private care cos." That's why I hired Right at Home ("RAH"), owned by Zubin Kapadia. His sales pitch was perfect. It was everything and more  I wished for (specialized care for mom and better pay for the aides).  The desperation to find the best or just better care for your loved ones is harsh. But don't be taken in by Right at Home:1. The company and Kapadia were sued in federal court, in part, for not paying the plaintiff, one of their aides. 2. RAH is more like an employment agency as opposed to a healthcare agency with actual employees.  Before hiring RAH, I addressed these issues with owner Zubin Kapadia. I took his word that his company would truly help my home-bound mom suffering with Parkinson's and RA. He even said his aides are SPECIALIZED in Parkinson's care. BUT--- RAH does not provide better-trained, better-paid aides.  Sadly, the RAH aides that came to my mom's home all had second jobs some with competing home care companies.- It was not true that mom would receive Parkinson's-trained aides.- No, the aides weren't briefed on my mom's conditions. They had no idea of my mom's ailments and needs. This after the RAH nurse previously interviewed my 82 yo mom for 2 hours (so she could de-brief the aides!$- Mr. Kapadia, the owner, touts himself as a healthcare industry veteran. No. He was a finance guy investing in healthcare cos. He said he recently purchased two RAH franchises in order to provide better service than what his elderly parents rec'd through Medicaid.My fellow caretakers and children of elderly parents, don't be fooled. Right at Home is wrong at home.
