We love Black Smoke Farm! The care is top-notch and the owner Val, lives on premises and is always keeping an eye out for our horses. Val is extremely knowledgeable and always there to help out her borders and their horses. And she treats all of our horses like they were her own. If you're looking for a trainer whether it be lessons on your own horse or on one at Black Smoke, Val is awesome and uses classical dressage training to create softness and build a better partnership with you and your horse.

I love boarding my horse at Black Smoke Farm. The horse care is top notch--lots of turnout, 24/7 turnout options, 24/7 hay, caring barn staff. Highly skilled trainer Val is such a great communicator and makes lessons fun. Great trails, indoor and outdoor arenas, convenient location. It's a very supportive learning environment..we all cheer each other on!

We've been boarding at black smoke for about 4 years now. The horses receive nothing less than excellent care and even have 24/7 hay and water! The facility is always well taken care of with a beautiful indoor and outdoor.There is also access to beautiful trails! Val is one of the most passionate and knowledgeable trainers I have had the pleasure to learn from. She explains everything very well, and is very patient with both horse and rider. She helped me train my ottb who at first would not even go over a ground pole, now she has been to a handful of hunter shows and even tends to place well. I definitely would not be the rider I am today without val and I truly look forward to every lesson with her!
