They call me multiple times a day. If I do go solar it wont be with this company as they do not stop calling. They are the worst spammers I get. The calls need to stop.

Similar to the other reviews, all my interactions with them were very professional. I actually got a lot of the pictures of the work performed and everything seems to be done as advertised. I won't know what the impact on my bills is until the weather gets much warmer or colder. I'm hoping the bills are way down this year!

We cannot say enough good things about this energy company recommended by New York State. They insulated the house, replaced an exhaust pipe from the dryer, and door sweeps inside the home as well as putting in triple-pane windows and patio doors. The contractors were meticulous in their work and expert at what they did. The company worked with us and backed us all the way with an inflexible, contentious condominium board who made our lives extremely difficult all summer long. Nevertheless, the consumer advocate, Melissa Cleveland, and the owner, Mike Brown interceded on our behalf to satisfy the outrageous demands placed upon us both emotionally and financially. If you need a quality product for energy-savings and replacement windows and doors, go to BrightHome.

They provide useless energy audit with the detailed write up of the work which they themselves do not perform satisfactorily due to which they may never insulate your home effectively as they claim in their own write up! The office staff tries to create rocket science out of a simple insulation work. The workers never came equipped with all the material which was listed on the scope of work. Initially, I was informed it may take one and half day but they stretched it to full three days until I had to de-scope some of the work otherwise it might have gone up to 4 days. In my situation, they left obvious air leaks under the attic knee wall, and you cannot do anything about it because contractually they will make you go by before/after results of the blower door fan test i-e you may agree on some number quoted in their energy audit, but in reality, you may still have cold draft leakages. Therefore, dont trust or think that they will ever own up to the actual problem! They will charge you extremely high amount based on their own write up but it could be 70% cheaper if one can breaks it down and get the same tasks performed by other contractors. I wouldnt rate them on the clean-up job, because they are paid to resolve insulation issues and not on how well they clean up! I agree with all the above negative reviews.

Let me start this review by stating that I do not work for BrightHOMES and find that notion to dismiss a good review odd-fake news (and I am not a Russian bot)! I had 5 insulation companies come to our 7000 square foot historic carriage house to give me quotes and various ideas about the insulation project as to what to do and how to proceed. Tom from Bright Homes came and spent all day evaluating our home that we sadly discovered was completely un-insulated after moving into from Brooklyn in July- now we were shivering in our drafty house, wearing coats inside even with the heat constantly blasting as the heat would dissipate quickly as there was no insulation to retain the heat. I narrowed my choices down to BrightHOMES and one other contractor- I even ran the quote from BrightHOMES with the competing contractor-he felt it was fair, and because he was not able to come to insulate our home for several months and BrightHOMES could start within 2 weeks, he felt I should use them and praised them as the best (along with him, of course) and even was surprised how competitive their cost was, given their labor is union. We needed everything done-attic, basement, and wall fill. Tom and his brother Mike came with their hard working crew and spent a better part of a month and a few weeks (bad weather was a factor) insulating our house and even used a more atypical blown in insulation, mineral wool, as it would be less dusty then cellulose if it leaked into our interior space and is more commonly used in the Midwest and Canada even though it was more expensive but has a higher R factor than cellulose. The difference is astonishing and they promised us 30 percent reduction and the final blower test showed a 50 percent reduction in drafts, beyond their (and my expectation). They used over 4 tons of material to fill our walls which had huge unexpected large pockets to fill (they didn't know this till they started with the blowing in process as the house is from the 1850s and extremely quirky) and the difference is night and day. It is a historic old house, enormous, and I spent 1800 dollars in one month on heating oil prior to installation of the insulation. After insulation, I did an oil fill late January and now it's mid-February and my tank is still over 60 percent full and temps in house rise above the thermostat level and hold though obviously outside temps can vary. The heat turns on now rarely-before it cycled endlessly on and off. I have a monster oil chugging boiler so this is a huge difference and though the job was expensive, it was worth it being in a comfortable and warm house now and I see it as a one time investment. Kudos to BrightHOMES and their stellar employees along with Mike and Tom. And FYI I was in constant contact with their office who promptly returned my calls for my questions and helped guide me & procure us a low cost loan for a goodly part of the project through NYSERDA.
